"Suicide Birds" is a song by Mars Argo. It is featured as the second track on their debut album Technology Is a Dead Bird.

Background[]

The full song was uploaded to the duo's now-defunct Muxtape page in April 2009,[1][2] but was taken down sometime between February 2010 – December 2011. A demo of the track surfaced online on April 24th, 2017,[3] although it's unclear if this is the same version as the Muxtape upload, since both files have different lengths.

An acoustic performance of the song was uploaded to the Grocerybag YouTube channel on December 17th, 2009,[4] the audio of which was later included as a track on the Internet Sessions EP on August 18th, 2010.[5]

A remix of the song, produced by Johnny K, was recorded at Groovemaster Studios in December 2010,[6] however, this version was never released, likely due to the cancelation of the duo's second studio album.

Lyrics[]

She was feeling faint when the smoke hit
Dizzy with the smell of perfume
Hiding from her family that she missed
Cold and all alone in her room

The bird flew into the window
And he heard the same song in our heads
I often wonder what it would feel like
To be free again
Free again

We were building courses for horses
Make believe with me by your side
She grew up a week before I did
My mother said that it wasn't right

The bird flew into the window
And he heard the same song in our heads
I often wonder what it would feel like
To be free again
Free again

Memories fade
But they bring you back to the good old days
But the good old days will never be the same

I sang a song I wrote for you yesterday
But you didn't hear it
You didn't hear it
Anyway
Anyway, oh
Anyway-ay-ay
Anyway, oh
Anyway

It's just the good
It's just the good old days

(One, two, three, four)
(One, two)

The bird flew into the window
And he heard the same song in our heads
I often wonder what it would feel like
To be free again
Free again

The bird flew into the window
And he heard the same song in our heads
I often wonder what it would feel like
To be free again
Free again

She said
She said

The bird flew into the window
And he heard the same song in our heads
I often wonder what it would feel like
To be free again
Free again

(That was so good)
