"Seventeen" is an unreleased song by Mars Argo.

Background[]

The song's live concept demo, titled "New Jam", was recorded on June 13th, 2013. Since this was only a day before the band's show at Pehrspace, it's often speculated that this audio is from a live rehearsal for the event.

On April 5th, 2014, Titanic Sinclair posted a picture of him and Mars Argo to his Instagram with the caption "Wrote a new song".[1] He was most likely referring to the studio version of "Seventeen", since it was exported only a day later, and there's no evidence to suggest that finished lyrics were written prior to this. The track was uploaded privately to Argo's official SoundCloud page on June 26th, 2014, featuring a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger from his June 1985 portrait session in Los Angeles, California, as its cover artwork.[2]

The song is believed to have been very personal to Mars Argo, discussing her relationships with her sister and father as well as her struggles with drug abuse. Sinclair claimed in leaked private messages with a fan whom he also sent the song to, that it was "the best" unreleased Mars Argo track and that it was written by himself, Nigel Silverthorn and Argo.[3]

A snippet of the "New Jam" live demo leaked online on February 10th, 2018, and the full version surfaced on May 29th, 2018.[4] Prior to this, though, the song's full studio version was leaked on May 14th, 2018.[5]
