"Rough Untitled (idk)" (originally titled "G-Funk") is a song by Mars Argo that used to be available for streaming on her SoundCloud in 2013. It is unknown whether the song was intended for a release outside of the platform.
Background[]
On January 8, 2013, Mars Argo stated via Facebook that she was thinking about releasing "a bunch" of demos online for fun, possibly teasing the release of this song.[1] However, she didn't upload any other known tracks to her SoundCloud account until "Dark Basement 1" and "Wet Cigarette" in November of that year.
The song is exactly what the title implies, a rough demo. It features Argo humming over an instrumental for a few minutes in place of lyrics. It is currently unknown if actual lyrics were ever written for this song.
It was originally uploaded as simply "Rough Untitled",[2] but an "(idk)" was later added to the title.[3]
Trivia[]
- It samples a bass riff from the rap song "I'm a Player" by Too $hort, which was originally sampled from "Hollywood Squares" by Bootsy's Rubber Band.
- The song was registered to Audiam in October 2019.
