"Living It" (originally titled "Sheraton" and also known as "Dinghy" or "Live in It") is an unreleased song by Mars Argo. It was likely intended for use on their canceled second studio album.

Background[]

On August 3rd, 2013, Dustin Martian posted a short video clip of Mars Argo coming up with the song's melody and lyrics to his Instagram page.[1][2] A month later, Titanic Sinclair posted a snippet of its studio demo version, titled "Sheraton", to his Tumblr account.[3] Argo also posted lyrics from the track to her own Tumblr page on December 3rd, 2013.[4] The song saw its live debut at Stephen F's Bar on March 11th, 2014, and was performed again at Speakeasy four days later.[5]

The "Sheraton" demo version was leaked online on April 24th, 2017,[6] as the result of a hack to Sinclair's email and iCloud accounts. Following this, the final version, titled "Living It", surfaced on May 14th, 2018,[7] after being sent to a fan by Sinclair in 2017.[8]

An earlier mix of the final version, labeled as mix 3, was posted to band member Jake DeSouza's SoundCloud account on July 17–August 4, 2019, alongside "Wasting Away".[9] An alternate early mix was leaked via Discord on May 17th, 2022.[10]

Lyrics[]

Ooh, I wonder
Will I ever break the spell of you?
Ooh, I wonder
Was there really nothing I could do?

I'm living it
I'm swimming in it
I'm hiding from it all

And who am I to say that I don't need you?
Who am I to be wrong?

Not enough boys in my bed
Not enough Hollywood friends
I often wonder what it takes these days
Wonder if you're worth my mind
And in the winter I'm so expensive
And you don't even have the time

I'm living it
I'm swimming in it
I'm hiding from it all

And who am I to say that I don't need you?
Who am I to be wrong?
And who am I to catch you in the middle?
Who am I to be wrong?

Not enough boys in my bed
Not enough Hollywood friends

And who am I to say that I don't need you?
Who am I to be wrong?
And who am I to catch you in the middle?
Who am I to be wrong?
And who am I to say that I don't need you?
Who am I to be wrong?

'Cause I'm living it
I'm living in it
I'm hiding from it all

'Cause I'm living it
I'm living in it
I'm hiding from it all

I'm living it
I'm swimming in it
I'm hiding from it all

I'm living it
I'm swimming in it
I'm hiding from it all

And who am I to say that I don't need you?
Who am I to be wrong?
And who am I to catch you in the middle?
Who am I to be wrong?

And who am I to catch you in the middle
When you're falling down?
And who am I to tell you what to do
When I don't even know the answers?
