"A-Okay" (also known as "Leyam Lightning") is a song by Mars Argo from the 2011 EP, Linden Place.

Background

The song was written by Mars Argo and Titanic Sinclair in a time period between late 2009 through early 2010. This song is speculated by fans to be about Mars' personal life along with "Formal Girl".

It's about a girl not following her parents' expectations and upbringing by dating someone for love, rather than finance like her parents raised her to. She's indefinitely baffled by people saying her significant other isn't the right one for her, but she just wants to live happily with her lover and wants the people who have a negative say with that to just leave her alone.

Lyrics

I grew up in a home where emotion means nothing
When your heart is a stone you feel numb to it beating
Mommie taught me to marry a man for his money
Daddy taught me never rely on anybody

I was so confused
About my point of view
I didn't know the truth
Until I met you

And everything was okay
Everything is a-okay
Find someone who thinks the same
And makes you feel okay

I was told he was unmotivated and lazy
But I'd rather be happy together than crazy
"If you can choose who to love,
Then take the money and run, little girl."
"Remember A = A. You don't need his love, anyway."

Oh, little girl...

I was so confused
About my point of view
I didn't know the truth
Until I met you

And everything was okay
Everything is a-okay
Find someone who thinks the same
And makes you feel okay
